Every new parent hits the same wall. Your baby won’t sleep, you’re running on four hours of broken rest, and Google gives you fourteen contradictory answers about what a 4-month-old’s schedule should look like. That frustration is exactly why mupadi exists.
mupadi is a focused resource built around one thing: helping parents and caregivers understand and establish healthy sleep patterns for babies from birth through 24 months. No product reviews, no gear roundups, no mom-shaming. Just clear, practical sleep guidance grounded in pediatric sleep research and real-world experience.
Meet the Author

Hi, I’m Amy Koch. I spent two years as a postpartum doula before transitioning into sleep consulting work. During that time I tracked sleep patterns for over 200 families, kept detailed logs of what worked (and what spectacularly did not), and developed a deep respect for how individual every baby’s sleep journey is.
I created mupadi after noticing a gap in available resources. Most baby sleep websites either push expensive courses, bury useful information behind affiliate-heavy product lists, or give advice so generic it helps no one. I wanted a site that delivers specific, age-appropriate sleep schedules backed by data from the American Academy of Pediatrics and published pediatric sleep studies — without the noise.
What makes this site different:
Every recommendation is age-specific to a narrow range, not a vague “3–6 month” bracket. The interactive Baby Sleep Calculator provides personalized schedules based on your child’s exact age. All content is reviewed against current AAP safe sleep guidelines. The tone is honest — if something is controversial in the sleep training world, I say so rather than pretending there’s one right answer.
This site is for sleep-deprived parents who need answers at 3 AM, for grandparents helping with overnight care, and for daycare providers building nap schedules. If you have a question or spot something that needs updating, reach out through the Contact page.
mupadi is independently run. It is supported through advertising displayed on the site. This funding model keeps all content free and accessible to every family that needs it.
How the Guides Here Are Written and Checked
I would rather be transparent about the process than ask you to take my word for it, so here is exactly how an article on this site comes together.
- The question comes first. Every guide starts from something parents actually asked me, either during consultations or by email. I do not write about a topic because it ranks well.
- Numbers are checked against published guidance. Sleep totals, nap counts, and safety rules are cross-referenced against the American Academy of Pediatrics, the NICHD, and the NHS. Where sources give different ranges, I use the wider one and say so.
- Experience is labelled as experience. When something comes from my own logs or from families I worked with rather than from a published study, it appears in a shaded box and is written in the first person. You should always be able to tell which is which.
- Safety content follows the source, not my opinion. On sleep surface, position, and swaddling, I do not editorialise. Those sections track the current AAP safe sleep guidelines and are updated when the guidance changes.
- Articles get revisited. Guidance moves, links rot, and my own thinking changes. Pages are reviewed periodically and updated in place rather than left to age quietly.
The Limits of What You Will Find Here
Being clear about what this site does not do seems more useful than another paragraph about what it does.
- No medical advice. I am not a physician. Nothing here diagnoses, treats, or replaces your pediatrician, and anything that touches health belongs in that appointment.
- No personalised plans by email. I read what arrives, but I no longer take clients, and I will not write a schedule for an individual baby I have never met.
- No single correct method. Sleep training is genuinely contested. Where the evidence is thin, I say the evidence is thin rather than picking a side and dressing it up as fact.
- No product recommendations for money. There are no affiliate links on this site, and where a product category comes up, such as sleep sacks or sound machines, the discussion is about safety criteria rather than brands.
Corrections
If something on this site is wrong, out of date, or contradicts current guidance, I want to know. Email contact@mupadi.com with the page and what you think is off. Substantive corrections are made to the page itself rather than buried in a note at the bottom, and I will tell you what changed.
The best place to start reading is usually how much sleep babies need by age, which sets the expectations everything else on the site builds on.
If you would rather have a number for your own baby before anything else, start with the Baby Sleep Calculator and come back to the reading afterwards.
